Gardening Tips

Here it is time to get ready for your spring and summer color.  Start planting your annuals and perennials now for color to last from June until frost and do not forget the movable containers and pots.

The vegetable garden is going to be this years savior with the  price of fuel driving up the cost of food not to mention getting to the store to buy it.  Nice vegetables from your own garden are going to be fresher and taste better then what you get in the stores, an added bonus.  Fruit trees planted this year will yield a few fruits next year and more in the years to come.  For those of you who insist on organice produce what better way to know no chemicals were used then in your own garden?

When planting your trees be sure to dig the hole larger then needed.  With the soil you remove mix it with added soil or compost so the tree knows what soil it will be living in and not become root-bound.

The City Dweller should not worry about having enough space for fruit trees and vegetables as these can be planted in large pots or 1/2 wine barrels on small patios, porches and decks.  Blueberry bushes will also thrive and yield lucious fruit full of antioxidants.  So get busy, use your imagination and enjoy!
